POSITION: Permanent Building Substitute

 

SCHOOL: New Fairfield Elementary School 

 

GENERAL DUTIES:
Provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regularly assigned teacher. Follow lesson plans, maintain a safe and productive learning environment, manage student behavior, and comply with all district policies and procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required in accordance with Connecticut substitute-teacher requirements; Connecticut teaching certification preferred.
• Candidates who do not hold a bachelor’s degree may be considered only if eligible for an approved state waiver.
• Ability to work effectively with students and staff across grade levels.
• Strong communication, classroom-management, and organizational skills.
• Successful completion of all required background checks and pre-employment requirements.

 

SALARY: $130 per day, 5 sick days, 3 personal days
